Chapter 1

  BEEP!

  BEEP!

  BEEP!

  SMASH!

My eyes widened in recognition. 'Oh god... I hope Nancy didn't hear that. That's the third clock this week...'

Slowly, I sat up in my bed and absentmindedly rubbed the sleep from my eyes. Turning to left, I looked at my nightstand which held my broken alarm clock...

'Perhaps if I hurry after school today, (it's going to be the first day of school) I could get to the store to buy a new clock she won't notice.' With that in mind, I grabbed my cellphone and put the reminder on it so I wouldn't forget.

“LUCY! GET UP! YOU GOT SCHOOL TODAY!” My adoptive mom, Nancy Morton, yelled from downstairs. Yep, that's right, I'm adopted. My original surname was Peppers. Kinda weird but whatever. With that in mind, store it away so I can continue. It's a Monday today! 'Ugh!'

“I'M ALREADY UP NANCY!” I called back. Jumping off of the bed I headed off to take a quick shower. After that was taken care of, I walked over to the closet. I grabbed an outfit that consisted of light blue flare jeans, a white tank top, and a red hooded sweatshirt with the words 'Coca-Cola' on the front. The hoody went down to my knees but I didn't really care. I also grabbed a pair of ankle socks that also had the Coca-Cola logo on it, then slipped on my nifty rebook sneakers (they were a mix with blue as the main color, and some pink and yellow).

As I finished with all of that I ran towards the railing of the spiral stairs (cool huh?) and jump-sat on top of it. Then I found myself flying free down the stairs.

“YEHAAA!-” Okay, now I felt really free...

   SMACK!

“Ugh...” I pushed myself from the wall and sat on my knees, “Pffffft! Looks like I was going to have to face it anyways! Hahaha! That pun was totally intended.”

“Seriously Lucy? Must you you do this every Monday? It's like a ritual now every school week.” Humor was laced within the words. I looked behind me and saw the family's daughter, Tatum Morton. She is nineteen years old while I on the other hand was thirteen years old. She wore a yellow v-neck t-shirt, blue skinny jeans and black flip-flops. Her long, blond hair was pulled back into a high ponytail.

I found her hand a couple feet in front of my face. Grinning, I griped it and she tugged me up.

“Would you rather me to tie the strings on my sneakers together and do it?”

She shook her head and peered down at me. I saw something in her eyes. Despite the humored face placed on her face, I saw sadness. Confused, I confronted her about it.

“Tatum, are you okay? You look sad.”

Sighing, Tatum knelt down so that she was head level with me. She put her hand on my shoulder, “Hey Lu-lu, remember how I was going to college this year?” Seeing me nod, she continued, “Well apparently, they are starting college earlier this year so I might be leaving before you go to school today.”

Tears brimmed at my eyes and I launched myself at her.

“Shh... it's okay Lucy. I can still visit every now and then. Christmas is just around the corner.”

  “B-b-but w-why can't y-you stay h-here?” I hiccuped.

Tatum waited a little before starting, “ You know I'm not going to be gone forever Lucy. By going to college I'll be able to get a good job and all that good stuff. * sigh * How about this? I don't fully leave exactly yet. Some of the dorms are getting fixed up. So after you come back home today we can play one of your silly little games you like so much, just you and me. You can choose whatever.”

Now sniffling, I asked in a low voice, “Promise Tate?”

A nod. And she stood up straight.

“Okay.” I turned to go to the kitchen but Tatum stopped me.

“Wait. Here, I found it the other day.” My eyes widened. A blue crystal was pulled out of her pocket and was now in the palm of my hand glowing softly.

“Wow... It's so pretty Tate. Thank you so much!” My arms wrapped around her waist and hugged her.

“Common. I'll drive you to school today okay? Good. Now get all your backpack. I'll be in the car.”

Nodding with enthusiasm, I ran upstairs to my room and paused in front of my mirror. 'I gotta buy more coke.' I thought. Shaking my head, I grabbed my pack, ran downstairs, and popped into Tate's car.

Little did I know that this little crystal was going to lead me into for the adventure of a lifetime...

Alright this is my first Transformers Animated fanfiction. This chapter is kinda like the mix of the prologe and the first chapter.

I don't own Transformers Animated (though it would be really awesome!), Hasbro does.

I only own my oc (Lucy) and her friends/family (Tatum, Nancy, and the dad I never even mentioned yet).
